It's not slime, it's mucus!

Big fan of comics, thought these two fit the bill in light of the upcoming holiday weekend.

The saga continues as far as Regan is concerned. We had a group meeting with tricare, case worker/med admin assigned to Reg, primary care manager and the Med squadron commander. The meeting got everyone on the same page as far as figuring out the best options for Regan's treatment, discussing what Regan wants and the overall process for coordinating this effort. It was great to get everyone in a room rather than communicating by email or phone. It appeared that there was conflicting information being filtered to the commander and it was important to ensure we all knew which direction we were headed. The outcome is that Reg is headed to MD Anderson on June 9-11. The Docs in TX think he is an ideal candidate for a study that requires a lot of observation. He will plan on going to TX every 3 weeks for the first 12 weeks and then every 3 months for the next 5 years. We are relieved he will be routinely checked by a knowledgeable team on such a regular basis. I am accompanying him on the initial trip, Preston gets to camp at the Ingles. Thanks Ingles, you guys have really helped our moods and state of mind. It means a lot.

Reg also has the basal cell being removed from his upper lip coming up. Will let you know how that all shakes out post op.

As is always the case, life is continuing on outside of our obsession with all things melanoma. Thankfully we have friends and family that remind us to be social and enjoy what we have. Mandi, Bracken and Rowe are headed our way for a week. They get here this Saturday and will stay through the following Saturday. So excited to see them and let them soak up a little Sodak ;) Preston and Rowe should have a great time together and of course any time we get with some of our best friends we are more than happy to snatch up.

After we get back from Houston the Borella's will invade via 5th wheel. We are one of the many stops along their 3 week tour. So excited to see them. Plan to do a little spelunking, sight seeing and catching up.

Regan is doing great, even passed his PT test (no problem!) while on a profile. They made him walk 3 miles and he had to keep reminding himself not to run else he would be disqualified and fail. Preston is super and is quickly becoming more of a boy than a toddler. He impresses us everyday with his memory and vocabulary. Never know what he will ask about next. Yesterday on the way home from daycare we had a chat about temperature, had no idea he was even interested. I think I have him convinced the 84 degrees is a good temp, didn't want to explain that is a little subjective and his daddy would whole-heartedly disagree ;) We have watched Princess and the Frog more times than I can count and he is in love with the mulberry bush song/book and an old lady puppet. Rather comical as he can't wait to hold onto the old lady puppet in daycare every morning. She is an odd looking thing that is a prop for the song about the old lady who ate the fly, cow, dog, etc. On the bright side it is better than thumb sucking I suppose.

Really looking forward to the upcoming visits as well as Regan's appointment at MD Anderson. Hope you all are enjoying the spring/summer. Get outside and have some fun. xoxo
