Happy Birthday Preston!!

Today is the big day, we have a been a family for 2 whole years. Strange that Preston was able to fill an emptiness we didn't even know was there. We are blessed. Proud of the little person he has become. Amazing how much change has happened this year. Blobular to kidtastic in a blink of an eye. Last year at this time he was barely walking and talking. Now he sings songs, runs, goes up and down stairs. Impressive year to say the least. We are constantly shocked and amazed by the things he does or says. We had some folks over today for some grub and cake. Thanks for the fun and loot Ingles & Pritchards!

Was an eventful week for us here at the Halsted Hacienda. Lots to celebrate and reflect on. Reg and I started dating 15 years ago on 9-29-94. In that time we have lived, visited or passed through some 30+ states, 4 countries, moved 10+ times, 4 cats, 1 dog, 2 degrees, 6 cars (+1 reincarnated), 9 video game systems, 4 jobs for Reg, 12 jobs for Karl, lost 6 atm cards & 1 set of keys and 1 beautiful baby boy. We wouldn't change any of it. Glad to have shared it with most of you.

Also this week our oldest niece and nephew have stepped up to make us feel old. Jess (aka Mae) is on facebook and is chatting with us. Intelligent chat! Then we start to receive text messages from Christopher who has his own cell phone! Not sure we should be so shocked that these 'kids' are thinking human beings but you could have knocked me over with a feather. Jess is interested in bands and Christopher just got his blue belt in tae kwan do...that is more than half way to a black belt. What happened to the little kids who liked Jimmy Neutron and Hannah Montana?

The next few months should be busy. We have sorted out all of our trips finally. We head to Spokane Oct 10-18, Oahu Nov 25-Dec 1 and then L.A. for Christmas. That should break up the fall weather that is already upon us. 45 degrees today and very windy. We have chance of snow through the weekend. It was in the 70s on Monday. No rest for the wicked Mother Nature. Look forward to seeing most of you soon.
